Equipment Operator

Full-time Equipment Operator – CAT Equipment (DOT Projects) 

Location: Minot, ND 

Pay: $20-30/hour 

Position Type: Full-time 

Job Overview: 

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Equipment Operator with a focus on operating CAT machinery for Department of Transportation (DOT) projects. The ideal candidate will have active experience with CAT equipment, specifically using GPS for precision work. This role requires a dependable individual who is comfortable working on the road, traveling to job sites as needed. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Operate CAT equipment (excavators, graders, dozers, etc.) on DOT construction projects 
• Utilize GPS systems for precise, efficient operations on projects 
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment to ensure it’s in optimal working condition 
• Follow project plans and guidelines to complete tasks on time and to specifications 
• Ensure all operations comply with safety standards and project regulations 
• Communicate effectively with project managers and other team members to ensure smooth operations 
• Be comfortable with travel and working on the road for extended periods as required for different job sites 

Qualifications: 

• Active experience operating CAT equipment, including GPS usage for precision tasks 
• Previous experience on DOT projects preferred 
• Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues 
• Comfortable working in a team environment and taking direction 
• Ability to handle physically demanding work in various weather conditions 
• Reliable, with a strong work ethic and commitment to safety 
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (CDL preferred but not required) 
• Must be comfortable traveling to different job sites
