Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED
- Degree or certificate in Tool/Die making
- 1+ years experience in toolmaking or machinist role or other related position
- Able to read and follow written and verbal instructions and work standards
- Strong measurement skills and good understanding of geometry and trigonometry
- Ability to interpret advanced blueprints and understand tolerances
- Able to work overtime hours according to business needs
- Close attention to detail and accuracy
- Safely operate hoist, overhead cranes, and forklift
- Mechanical aptitude
- Able to lift 75 lbs. to shoulder height on an on-going basis (with/without assistance)
- Push, pull, bend, twist, and stoop on an on-going basis
- Grip and hold tools
- Must be able to handle extremely heavy items with assistance/equipment
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time
Responsibilities:
- Complete tool PMs, new tool integration and tool repairs on schedule and to company and customer process and procedures
- Evaluate each job and determine if it can be repaired in press or must be removed to Tool Room for essential maintenance and repair work
- Transfer molds throughout facility as required
- Perform cleaning and preventative maintenance on molds with assistance
- Machine and grind to repair and modify molds
- File, grind, shim, and adjust different parts to properly fit them together
- Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools, using machine tools and hand tools
- Measure, mark, and scribe metal or plastic stock to lay out machining, using instruments such as protractors, micrometers, scribes, and rulers
- Select metals to be used from a range of metals and alloys, based on properties such as hardness and heat tolerance
- Prepare molds for shipping
- Manage tooling inventory
