HireQuest Direct of Minot is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tire Retread Technician to join our team. As a Tire Retread Technician, you will play a crucial role in the retreading process of tires, ensuring they meet quality standards and are ready for reuse. Responsibilities:
- Tire Inspection: Inspect tires for damage, wear, and any other potential issues that may affect the retreading process.
- Buffing and Repairing: Operate buffing equipment to remove the worn-out tread from tires and repair any punctures or damages.
- Retreading Process: Apply new rubber tread to the tire casing using proper adhesion techniques and equipment.
- Curing: Place the retreaded tire into a curing chamber, monitor the temperature and pressure, and ensure proper curing of the tread.
- Quality Control: Inspect the finished retreaded tires to ensure they meet quality standards, including tread depth, balance, and appearance.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of the retreading process, including tire identification, specifications, and any repairs or adjustments made.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of retreading equipment to ensure proper functionality and longevity.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Prior experience in tire retreading or a related mechanical field is preferred. However, we are willing to train the right candidate with a strong mechanical background.
- Mechanical Skills: Proficiency in using tools and equipment related to tire retreading, including buffing machines, tire presses, and curing chambers.
- Attention to Detail: Strong observational skills and the ability to identify tire defects, tread irregularities, and other potential issues.
- Manual Dexterity: Excellent hand-eye coordination and the ability to perform precise tasks involved in the retreading process.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy tires, and perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with a team and follow instructions from supervisors and senior technicians.
