Building Maintenance Technician

HireQuest Direct of Minot is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our hotel facilities. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to creating a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests.


Responsibilities:

  1. Routine Maintenance: Perform regular inspections and maintenance of hotel rooms, public areas, equipment, and systems to ensure they are in proper working condition.
  2. Repairs and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other mechanical systems in a timely and efficient manner.
  3. Preventive Maintenance: Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and extend their lifespan.
  4. Safety and Security: Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols, including fire prevention measures, emergency procedures, and proper handling of hazardous materials.
  5. Guest Requests: Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests from guests, addressing and resolving issues to their satisfaction.
  6. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and equipment inventory.
  7. Collaboration: Coordinate with other hotel departments, such as housekeeping and front desk, to ensure efficient communication and resolution of maintenance-related issues.
  8. Vendor Management: Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers for specialized repairs and maintenance services as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. Experience: Prior experience in hotel maintenance or a similar field is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
  2. Technical Skills: Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance systems. Ability to troubleshoot and repair common maintenance issues.
  3. Attention to Detail: Strong observational skills and the ability to identify potential maintenance problems or safety hazards.
  4. Time Management: Effective organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Problem-Solving: Proactive and resourceful in resolving maintenance issues and finding innovative solutions.
  6. Customer Service: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on delivering exceptional service to guests and team members.
  7. Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  8. Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings, and be available for on-call emergencies.
