Sheet Metal Mechanic

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of sheet metal products and systems. This role requires a strong understanding of HVAC systems, ductwork, blueprints, and shop drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal products such as ducts, hoods, vents, and related HVAC systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine job layout and installation procedures.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal machinery (e.g., shears, brakes, rollers) safely and efficiently.
• Measure and mark dimensions and reference lines on metal sheets.
• Cut, bend, and shape metal using tools and machines to match design requirements.
• Install and fasten sheet metal components using screws, rivets, and welding or soldering techniques.
• Inspect systems and components for proper installation and function.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Collaborate with supervisors, contractors, and other trades to complete projects on schedule.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with computerized fabrication equipment (e.g., plasma cutters, CNC machines).
• Welding experience (TIG, MIG, or arc).
• Familiarity with SMACNA standards.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
