Data Center Mining Technician

Job Type: Full-Time

Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM

Location: Grand Forks, ND

HireQuest is actively seeking qualified Data Center/Mining Technicians for a Grand Forks, ND data center. As a Data Center Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and monitoring data center equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor Data Center Equipment: Ensure continuous operation by proactively monitoring all production systems, including providing remote hands support when needed.
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance on servers, network devices, and other data center hardware.
• Troubleshooting: Provide first-level troubleshooting for server and network issues and escalate when necessary.
• Equipment Management: Rack and install equipment such as PDUs, network gear, and servers. Run copper and fiber cables and maintain accurate hardware mapping.
• Ticketing & Documentation: Register repair tickets, update ticket statuses, and process hardware RMAs (Return Merchandise Authorizations). Maintain detailed records and up-to-date documentation.
• Asset Management: Track and manage data center assets, ensuring all hardware is properly documented and maintained.
• Physical Labor: Lift and rack heavy servers, work on ladders, and carry out physical tasks associated with data center operations.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• Experience: Basic troubleshooting skills and familiarity with computer systems required.
• Skills: Basic computer knowledge, attention to detail, and experience with cabling (copper, fiber) and network equipment.
• Certifications: A valid driver's license is preferred but not required.

Working Conditions:

• Environment: Work in a data center setting with exposure to hot and cold environments. Use of standard data center tools and equipment, including laptop computers, smartphones, voltmeters, hash board testers, and forklifts.
• Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, run cables, and stand for long periods. Must be comfortable working in physically demanding conditions (e.g., bending, lifting, reaching).
