SUMMARY: Maintains surface equipment working, clear errors from equipment, and ensures cleanliness and proper operation of assigned equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains assigned equipment operational . Clears errors from equipment and restarts equipment. Ensures equipment has all necessary consumables loaded for operation (alloy, blocks, pads, polish, etc.). Ensures equipment is kept clean during the shift. Takes part of scheduled equipment clean up. Informs management of equipment malfunction. Informs management of quality issues. Informs management of any equipment issues. Keeps area clean. Help in other areas when needed. Helps with light calibration, setup, and maintenance operations. Records data accurately from equipment of process as requested by management. Cross trains on tasks from other areas of the lab.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience:
Experience in the Optical Industry as it relates to ophthalmic lenses is desired. Experience working with Automated equipment, CNCs, or computers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Able and willing to work as a team. Basic Math. Must be able to work Overtime, Saturdays and Sundays and some holidays when needed. Able to read and write English Language well. Able to memorize large amounts of data accurately. Computer skills (Windows, MS Office)Experience or knowledge working with automated equipment. Problem solving skills. Work without constant supervision. Able to record information as requested in manual logs or computers. Attendance/Punctuality: Is consistently at work and on time.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to manipulate. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk, talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Safety Requirements: Basic understanding of the Injury and Illness Prevention Program and the Hazard Communication Program. Closed toe shoe required. Must use proper ergonomics when lifting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Must wear safety glasses. Other PPE might be required based on operations needs.
