Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff, customers, and visitors. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, works well independently, and understands the importance of cleanliness and sanitation in a professional setting. This role is responsible for daily cleaning tasks, facility upkeep, and supporting the overall appearance and functionality of the building.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine cleaning and custodial duties throughout the facility
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize floors and common areas
Clean and disinfect restrooms, break rooms, offices, and high-touch surfaces
Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly
Restock restroom and cleaning supplies as needed
Dust furniture, fixtures, windows, and equipment
Monitor building conditions and report maintenance or safety concerns
Assist with minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs or replacing supplies
Maintain cleaning equipment and ensure supplies are organized and stocked
Follow all company safety procedures and sanitation standards
Support special cleaning projects and event setup/breakdown when needed
Qualifications
Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or maintenance experience preferred but not required
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain active throughout the shift
Comfortable using cleaning equipment and chemicals safely
Positive attitude and willingness to help where needed
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of basic cleaning procedures and sanitation practices
Experience operating floor cleaners, buffers, or vacuums
Basic maintenance or facility support experience
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Work Environment
This position may require standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive motion throughout the workday. Work may be performed in offices, schools, warehouses, healthcare facilities, or commercial buildings depending on the assigned location.
