Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Certified Flagger to support traffic control operations at construction, utility, roadway, and maintenance sites. This role is responsible for directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely and efficiently through temporary work zones while protecting workers, motorists, and the public. The ideal candidate remains alert in fast-paced environments, communicates clearly, and follows all DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Direct and control traffic flow using approved hand signals, signs, paddles, cones, and barricades
Establish and maintain safe traffic control zones around construction and work sites
Assist with lane closures, detours, and temporary traffic pattern changes
Monitor traffic conditions and adjust control methods as needed for safety and efficiency
Communicate with crew members, drivers, and supervisors to maintain safe site operations
Inspect traffic control devices to ensure proper placement and visibility
Respond quickly to emergency situations or unsafe conditions
Maintain awareness of surrounding vehicles, pedestrians, and job site activity at all times
Follow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety procedures and regulations
Assist with setup and breakdown of traffic control equipment before and after projects
Qualifications
Valid Flagger Certification required
Previous traffic control or construction site experience preferred
Strong attention to safety and situational awareness
Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions
Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally
Physically capable of lifting traffic control equipment and performing active job duties
Preferred Skills
Experience working on road construction or utility projects
Knowledge of DOT traffic control standards and procedures
Ability to work in high-traffic or fast-paced environments
Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
Work Environment
This position is performed outdoors and may involve exposure to heat, cold, rain, dust, noise, and heavy traffic conditions. Employees should be comfortable working around active roadways and construction zones while maintaining a high level of focus and professionalism.
