Plant Operator / Mechanic

Plant Operator/Mechanic Position description: 

The essential duties of this position will be to prepare, operate, maintain, and repair production machinery to manufacture concrete hardscape products. This position also requires employee to operate a forklift on a regular basis and assist with the handling of products, raw materials, and other plant machinery and parts.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have prior masonry or hardscape manufacturing experience or equivalent manufacturing knowledge, plus the following requirements:

Must be safety oriented, and willing to follow safety processes and regulations.

Must keep work area clean and organized

Must be detail and quality oriented with the ability to use measuring instruments to perform basic quality checks.

Must possess mechanical aptitude and be able to identify and troubleshoot Electrical, Hydraulic, and mechanical systems.

Must be proficient in SMAW, and MIG welding, as well as knowledge in the use of oxy/acetylene torch and plasma cutter usage.

Basic fabrication skills are desired.

Knowledge and use of basic hand and power tools.

This position requires a lot of bending, twisting, and reaching while standing.

Must be able to work quickly, while standing, in an extremely fast paced environment.

Physical capacity to lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis

Willing and able to work day or night shifts, overtime, and adaptable to changing work hours.

Willing to work in both indoor and outdoor conditions

Previous forklift experience/ certification is a plus.
