HireQuest Direct is looking for multiple Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment, as well as following through with all individual programs and approaches as outlined in individual plans. No experience needed, will train.
Shifts vary (1st, 2nd, and 3rd)
8-12 hour shifts available

Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED
- Experience in the Human Services field preferred, but not required
- Must complete CPR, 1st Aid, Medication Administration and all required training initially and annually
- Must be able to negotiate stairs, lift 25 lbs. or more, and be able to assist in transferring and mobilizing non-ambulatory individuals in daily routine and during emergencies
- Must be able to meet State and Federal licensing guidelines for direct care employees
- Able to handle challenging behaviors and implement behavior management techniques effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills (communication skills, active listening, empathy, conflict resolution, teamwork, problem-solving, critical thinking, etc.)
- Must complete 2 training items
- Must be able to pass a complete background check
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall care and supervision of individuals
- Implement behavioral programs
- Record pertinent program data
- Record in daily logs after each shift
- Pass medications when assigned, after completion of med certification course
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs and preferences are met
- Perform heavy lifting as needed to assist individuals with mobility or transfers
- Report to shifts in a timely manner
- Teach/instruct individuals in non-program, everyday living skills
- Attend all staff meetings and assigned staff trainings
- Communicate with House Manager on a regular basis to discuss individuals progress on goals and objectives
- Communicate and chart pertinent medical information through appropriate communication channels to the House Manager
- Maintain individual confidentiality
- Assist individuals getting to scheduled medical or other appointments
- Assist with general housekeeping, house maintenance, and cooking
