Position Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and energetic School Food Service Worker to join our nutrition services team. This role involves preparing, serving, and assisting in the cleanup of school meals while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and nutrition guidelines. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a team, supporting students, and contributing to a positive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
•Prepare and serve breakfast and/or lunch to students and staff according to approved menus and portion sizes
•Assist in food prep including chopping, cooking, assembling trays, or wrapping items
•Set up serving areas and food stations before mealtimes
•Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, warmers, slicers, and dishwashers safely
•Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, food prep areas, and equipment
•Wash dishes, utensils, trays, and kitchen tools after meals
•Monitor food temperatures and store food properly following health regulations
•Restock supplies and assist with inventory
•Follow food safety procedures and adhere to all local health department regulations
•Provide friendly and respectful service to students, staff, and coworkers
•Report any safety concerns or equipment issues to the kitchen manager or supervisor
