Job Description
Position Summary
The Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of hospital floors and surfaces. Duties include stripping, waxing, buffing, scrubbing, and polishing floors while following safety and infection control procedures to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Strip, wax, buff, and polish floors.
Operate floor care equipment such as buffers, burnishers, and scrubbers.
Clean carpets and hard floor surfaces.
Sweep, mop, and maintain assigned areas.
Follow infection control and safety procedures.
Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.
Maintain equipment and report repairs when needed.
Remove debris and keep work areas clean and organized.
Provide courteous service to patients, visitors, and staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Previous floor care, housekeeping, janitorial, or custodial experience preferred.
Ability to operate floor care equipment.
Strong attention to detail.
Reliable and able to work independently.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to push and pull floor care equipment.
Work Environment
Hospital and healthcare facility settings.
Exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment.
May require weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
