Job Description
Assist with cleanup activities on active construction sites. This position focuses on removing construction debris, cleaning work areas, and preparing areas of the jobsite for the next phase of construction or final turnover.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, physically capable, and comfortable working around active construction crews, equipment, and materials.
Key Responsibilities
Perform cleanup of active construction areas as directed by the Site Superintendent or Foreman.
Pick up and remove construction debris, trash, packaging, and discarded materials.
Sweep, shovel, vacuum, and mop floors and designated areas.
Remove dust, dirt, mud, and other construction-related debris.
Clean stairways, hallways, entrances, work areas, and common areas.
Assist with cleanup and preparation of areas following construction activities.
Collect and properly dispose of debris in designated containers.
Help organize and clear work areas of leftover materials and waste.
Clean restrooms, break areas, and other temporary jobsite facilities as assigned.
Safely use basic hand tools and cleaning equipment.
Follow directions from site supervision and work cooperatively with construction crews.
Follow all jobsite safety rules and required PPE procedures.
Immediately report unsafe conditions, hazards, spills, or damaged equipment to site supervision.
Perform other general construction cleanup duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Previous construction cleanup, janitorial, custodial, or general labor experience preferred.
Construction site experience is a plus but not required.
Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment.
Ability to bend, kneel, climb stairs, and work on your feet throughout the shift.
Dependable and punctual.
Able to follow instructions and work safely around active construction operations.
Willingness to work indoors and outdoors and in changing weather conditions.
Must be able to wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety vest, and work boots.
Work Environment
This is a temporary position on active construction sites. Employees may be exposed to construction dust, noise, debris, weather conditions, moving equipment, and other jobsite hazards. All employees are required to follow site-specific safety procedures and remain aware of their surroundings.
