Job Description
Job Summary
We are opening a brand-new auto parts location and looking for energetic, detail-oriented individuals to join our Store Opening Setup Team. In this role, you will play a critical part in building our store from the ground up—assembling fixtures, stocking initial inventory, organizing auto parts, and setting up visual displays to ensure we are ready for a successful Grand Opening.
Key Responsibilities
Fixture & Shelving Assembly: Assemble and install store fixtures, metal gondola shelving, displays, racks, and signage according to floor plans and safety guidelines.
Inventory Unloading & Receiving: Safely unload delivery trucks, unbox merchandise, verify shipments against packing slips, and prepare auto parts for the sales floor.
Merchandising & Planogram Execution: Stock shelves, hooks, and floor displays precisely following provided planograms (merchandising diagrams) and store layout guides.
Inventory Management & Tagging: Apply price tags, barcodes, shelf labels, and promotional signage accurately across all departments (batteries, fluids, tools, hardware, accessories).
Store Preparation & Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Dispose of trash/cardboard and keep aisles clear of hazards.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with store leadership and setup team members to meet daily project milestones and setup deadlines.
Qualifications & Physical Requirements
Experience: Prior experience in retail setup, store openings, merchandising, stock room operations, or auto parts retail is a plus, but not required.
Auto Knowledge: Basic familiarity with automotive parts, tools, or accessories is preferred.
Physical Ability:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and climb ladders for long periods.
Ability to regularly lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs. (e.g., car batteries, brake rotors, heavy fluids).
Technical / Basic Tool Skills: Comfortable using basic hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches) and cordless power tools for fixture assembly.
Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to read planograms/schematics, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Work Environment & Schedule
Schedule: Day, evening, or weekend shifts may be required depending on setup timelines. Overtime may be available during peak setup weeks.
Environment: Fast-paced retail construction/setup environment prior to public opening.
