Job Description
We are looking for a reliable Hoist Operator to operate a jobsite elevator/hoist throughout the workday, safely transporting workers, materials, and equipment between floors on an active construction site. You will need reliable transportation to get to the jobsite in Petersburg, VA.
Responsibilities:
* Safely operate the jobsite hoist/elevator throughout the workday.
* Transport workers, materials, tools, and equipment between floors as directed.
* Follow all site safety procedures, operating guidelines, and load limits.
* Perform basic daily safety checks and report any equipment issues immediately.
* Maintain clear communication with workers and site supervision.
* Keep the hoist area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
* Assist with general jobsite tasks when the hoist is not in use.
* Follow all instructions from the site supervisor and construction management team.
Qualifications:
* Current hoist/operator certification preferred.
* Certification is not required if you are willing and able to complete the required training.
* Must be dependable and able to commit to working the full scheduled shift.
* Must be comfortable working on an active construction site and operating equipment for extended periods.
* Safety-conscious, reliable, and able to follow directions.
* Construction or equipment operating experience is a plus.
Training Available:
