Job Description
Will be responsible for constructing, installing, repairing, and maintaining structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. This role requires strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and safety practices, along with the ability to read blueprints and work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials according to specifications
Build and install frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes
Install structures such as cabinets, drywall, windows, and trim
Repair and replace damaged woodwork or structural components
Interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine project requirements
Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
Ensure all work complies with building codes and safety regulations
Collaborate with other construction professionals (e.g., electricians, plumbers)
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience as a carpenter or similar role
Strong understanding of carpentry methods and materials
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
Proficiency with carpentry tools and equipment
Good physical condition, stamina, and manual dexterity
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of safety standards and procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program
OSHA safety certification (or similar)
Valid driver’s license
Work Environment:
Construction sites (residential, commercial, or industrial)
Exposure to varying weather conditions
Requires lifting heavy materials and standing for long periods
