Job Description
Job Summary
The Plant Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe manufacturing environment by removing oil, debris, and other hazards from the production floor. This role plays a critical part in workplace safety, operational efficiency, and minimizing unplanned downtime.
Key Accountabilities
Maintain cleanliness throughout the plant to eliminate safety hazards
Remove oil and debris from floors to support safety and uptime goals
Key Responsibilities
Ensure company standards for safety, quality, and customer satisfaction are met or exceeded
Maintain excellent attendance and reliability
Keep plant floors free of oil and debris to ensure a safe work environment
Clean all areas surrounding presses and production equipment
Respond with urgency to spills and leaks, including oil leaks from presses
Recommend safety improvements to reduce costs and improve efficiency
Notify management of facility concerns, repairs, or maintenance needs
Work independently with minimal supervision
Meet or exceed established manufacturing and quality standards
Perform all other assigned duties as required
Qualifications / Qualities for Success
No experience required; previous factory experience preferred
Demonstrated understanding of and compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards
Strong communication skills and ability to ask for guidance when needed
Self–motivated with a strong sense of accountability
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Commitment to safe work practices and facility safety regulations
Physical & Mental Requirements
Ability to lift up to 55 lbs to shoulder height on a regular basis
Ability to push, pull, bend, twist, and stoop frequently
Ability to stand for extended periods
Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals
Ability to tolerate hot and humid environments for extended periods
Work Environment
Work is primarily performed on the manufacturing floor
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, noise, and elevated temperatures
Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise levels
