Delivery Vehicle Component Installer

Position Summary

The Delivery Vehicle Component Installer is responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality installation of delivery component systems on commercial fleet vehicles. 

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to perform repetitive hands-on work in a structured, high-volume deployment environment. The Installer is expected to follow established processes, maintain production expectations, ensure installation quality, accurately document completed work, and contribute to overall site productivity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Installation Execution

Perform delivery component installations on commercial fleet vehicles in accordance with approved SOPs and work instructions.

Complete all installation steps accurately and consistently.

Maintain installation cycle times in alignment with established production targets.

Properly and safely operate hand tools, power tools, and other installation equipment.

Follow standardized processes to ensure consistent installation results.

Escalate installation questions or process issues to the Site Leader as appropriate.

Quality Assurance

Ensure every installation meets established quality standards and acceptance criteria.

Perform required self-inspections and quality checks.

Identify, document, and report defects, inconsistencies, or installation concerns.

Perform rework or corrective actions when required.

Safety & Compliance

Follow all company, customer, and site-specific safety requirements.

Complete and comply with applicable Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and safety procedures.

Properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Immediately report safety hazards, incidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions to the Site Leader.

Use tools, equipment, and materials in accordance with established safety procedures.

Material Handling & Inventory

Retrieve installation materials, parts, and kits from designated on-site storage areas, including PODs.

Verify parts and installation kits for completeness and accuracy before beginning work.

Properly handle, stage, and protect components to prevent damage, loss, or misplacement.

Support basic inventory tracking and maintain organized material storage areas.

Communicate shortages, damaged materials, or discrepancies promptly.

Vehicle Readiness & Inspection

Perform basic vehicle readiness checks and visual inspections prior to installation.

Identify vehicles that do not meet established installation criteria.

Notify the Site Leader of vehicle condition issues or other installation blockers.

Follow established procedures for deferring vehicles that are not ready for installation.

Ensure vehicles are left in the required condition following completion of installation activities.

Reporting & Documentation

Accurately record installation activities and required information using designated PAC digital tools, including PATHFINDER.

Capture required installation evidence, including photographs and VIN information, as applicable.

Complete all required documentation for each vehicle installation.

Maintain accurate records to support traceability, quality audits, and project reporting.

Promptly communicate documentation or system issues that may affect accurate reporting.

Teamwork & Collaboration

Work effectively with other technicians and site personnel to maintain workflow and achieve daily production targets.

Communicate professionally and respectfully with team members, Site Leaders, and other project personnel.

Assist with onboarding, training, and knowledge sharing for new technicians as directed.

Follow direction from the Site Leader and contribute to a positive, productive work environment.

Support team priorities as project requirements change.

Continuous Improvement

Provide constructive feedback regarding installation processes and procedures.

Support implementation of updated SOPs, work instructions, and best practices.

Identify opportunities to improve installation efficiency, quality, safety, and workflow.

Help reduce installation errors, rework, material waste, and avoidable delays.

Required Qualifications

1–3 years of experience in automotive, mechanical, vehicle installation, manufacturing, assembly, or a related hands-on field.

Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with common hand and power tools.

Ability to read, understand, and consistently follow detailed SOPs and work instructions.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Ability to perform hands-on work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.

Ability to meet established productivity and quality expectations.

Valid driver’s license.

Ability to communicate effectively in English in an operational environment.

Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with vehicle upfitting, automotive retrofits, fleet installations, or aftermarket vehicle equipment.

Experience working in a structured production, manufacturing, assembly, or deployment environment.

Experience using digital tools, mobile applications, or electronic systems for work tracking and reporting.

Basic electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting experience.

Experience working with commercial fleet vehicles.

Regularly perform hands-on installation work around commercial fleet vehicles.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and work in various positions for extended periods.

Ability to safely handle installation tools, equipment, and materials.

Ability to work in a high-volume environment while maintaining required safety and quality standards.

Work may occur in vehicle lots, garages, warehouses, or other designated deployment environments.

Must comply with all applicable site-specific PPE and safety requirements.

Project Requirements

All personnel assigned to the project are required to meet the following standards:

English Communication: Employees must be able to communicate effectively in English as necessary to safely perform job duties, follow instructions, and coordinate with the project team.

Work Authorization: Employees must have valid legal authorization to work in the United States.

Safety Compliance: Employees must comply with all applicable safety regulations, company policies, JHAs, PPE requirements, and site-specific safety procedures. All potential hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions must be reported immediately.
