Seafood Production Technician

Position Summary

HireQuest Direct is hiring dependable Production Technicians for an established seafood manufacturer in Anacortes. This is a modern food-manufacturing and packaging environment, not traditional head-and-gut seafood processing.

Production Technicians support daily processing and packaging operations by weighing ingredients and products, operating production equipment, inspecting finished goods, and maintaining food-safety and quality standards. Training is provided for the position.

Responsibilities

• Inspect packages and finished products for accuracy and quality.
• Weigh products and ingredients using production scales.
• Add measured ingredients and seasonings as directed.
• Operate and monitor seafood-processing and packaging equipment.
• Sort, package, label, and prepare finished products for storage or shipment.
• Monitor production processes and report quality, equipment, or safety concerns.
• Operate manual or electric pallet jacks and assist with equipment disassembly and sanitation using approved tools, pressurized water, and cleaning chemicals when trained and authorized.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area.
• Follow all food-safety, PPE, sanitation, and workplace-safety procedures.
• Complete other production duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to accurately read a scale and perform basic measurements.
• Ability to follow written, digital, and demonstrated work instructions.
• Comfortable performing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong attention to quality, safety, and cleanliness.
• Previous seafood-processing experience is preferred but not required.
• Physical Requirements and Work Environment
• Ability to stand and walk on concrete throughout the scheduled shift.
• Ability to climb stairs and frequently bend, reach, and perform repetitive hand motions.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a food-production environment that may be refrigerated, wet, noisy, or hot.
• The facility processes seafood and may contain other food allergens.
